Cineloop
A cineloop is a period of images, stored digitally as a sequence of individual frames. Cineloops recorded at high frame rates may contain more frames than were displayed during the examination.

Class I, II, III Devices
Classification by the Food and Drug Administration of medical devices according to potential risks like e.g. ultrasonic heating. The US FDA 510k document provides guidance in the preparation of a regulatory submission to prevent hazards.
Clutter
Clutters are unwanted components of the received signal. In contrast enhanced ultrasound, clutter often describes the part of the received echo that is not from microbubble contrast agents.

Coaxial Cable
The cable, which connects the probe (also called handle) with the ultrasound machine, contains from 48 to 256 micro-coaxial cables, is about 2 m long and is one of the most expensive parts of the system.

Coded Excitation
Increasing the frequency of the transmitted power improves the image quality of ultrasound, but the improvement in resolution results in a decreased signal to noise ratio (SNR). Higher acoustic power levels can prevent the loss in SNR, but among other reasons, ultrasound regulations limit this to avoid heating or cavitation.
Coded excitation increase the signal to noise ratio without the loss of resolution by using coded waveforms. Coded excitation allows transmitting a long wide-band pulse with more acoustic power and high penetration of the sound beam.
